Every layer-1 blockchain on the market has different characteristics, consensus algorithms, hashing algorithms, etc. It limits communication between heterogeneous blockchains. Leading DeFi applications operate on a specific blockchain and are restricted to transact tokens that are native to the specific blockchain. Dapps are isolated from the majority of liquidity offered on other blockchains. Liquidity is fragmented in heterogeneous blockchains which causes inefficiency in exchanging assets and values. Solving the asset interoperability problem is the huge barrier to mass adoption and it is critical for DeFi to unleash the full potential of it. PLEXUS will enable any asset exchange between chains and users will be able to use the service without understanding the technology behind it.
